In the past few years, research and development of an ecological coating, complementary to galvanic coating has been a focal point in Buffoli's programme.
The electrophoresis process is the right answer to this ambitious goal. It permits the uniform coating of all metallic surfaces to the desired thickness faithfully binding to all surfaces, even the most complex ones, protecting and increasing resistance and life.
The finishes may be:

• transparent finishes: protecting the surface of the piece against corrosion and wear without affecting the colour and brightness.
  
   

• transparent coloured finishes:
  apart from protecting the surface of the piece against corrosion and wear, these modify the appearance of the metal without altering their metallic nature and brightness.
   

• opaque finishes:
  that hide the underlying metal through the application of a coating in the desired colour.
  
  
  The particular characteristics of the electrophoresis process are the aqueous nature of the solution, the limited presence of solvents and the absence of toxic emissions during the production cycle.
  The ecological nature of this new process is therefore evident and by winning the challenge of ever stricter environmental standards, it can be considered as an important achievement for Buffoli.
